Self Employed - Queries

Post by sureshep » Fri Jul 01, 2011 11:50 pm

My Tier 1 extn is due in Nov 28 this year. I am planning to file on 15th Nov.
Trying to get the things sorted out right from now.

I have registered as "Self employed" with HMRC. and I worked for a 6 months contract for which I use to get the salary from umbrella to my personnel bank account.

However, by reading your posts - I have few questions :

1) Is it mandatory to use only Business bank account for my salary received from umbrella ?? Reason behind is I didn't opened any business bank account. All salary amount has been transferred to my personnel bank account.

Will that be a serious problem for my extension ?

Regards,
did umbrella company advice your to get register with hmrc?
You need not register as self employed if all of your work is through umbrella company e.g. you are employed by umbrella company in this case and there is no need of any business account

sureshep, based upon what you have posted, you are employed, both for tax and immigration purposes.
