Number of days out of the country

For ILR, is it true that you do not count the day you leave the UK and the return day? Also I visited Dublin for 2 days in 2008, do I count these days? My total days out of the country has been 116. Thanks

Yes. You only count full days out of the UK. If you flow to Dublin and came back the next day, this is counted as 0 days (declare the trip but count as 0).
