Unemployed -- Visitor Visa? Please help.

Hi everyone!

I'm a recent graduate of a UK University (part of University of London). My visa expires this month. However, I really need to come back end of September in order to pick up my things and move out of my flat (the lease runs out September 20)

I'm planning on applying as a General Visitor. The problem is, since I just graduated, I'm still unemployed. I am fully supported by my parents, who fund me with everything. Should I state I am unemployed on my application? I'm worried they'll deem this 'suspicious' and that I want to come back to work! If I provide birth certificates, parent's sponsorship letter etc. etc., would it be possible for me to get the visa? I'm just really worried, and I seriously need to come to the UK! AhH!

Employment is not a requirement for a visit visa. These decisions are often very abitrary but your stated reason to return so soon after a period of residence is very plausible. Apart from being a genuine visitor, you need to demonstrate an ability to support yourself during the visa and what ties may motivate you to return to your home country after the visa. Be completely honest in your application.

I think the OP may very well have trouble convincing an ECO of his/her story. The fact that they had lived here and recently graduated and coming back (after, as pointed out by Vinny, not taking care of matters before leaving), may be an indication that the visa is not for the purpose of a visit, but to extend their stay.

You will need really strong evidence that you do not wish to remain in the UK beyond the dates of your visit visa and show really strong ties to go back home.

I couldn't take care of the matters because my lease doesn't expire til the end of September. I have to clean the flat and sign the check out / inventory upon leaving, as well as get my deposit back from the landlords. They are not letting me move out of the flat a month earlier.

You mean you can't break your contract earlier but that does not mean you can't leave earlier and pay until the end of the contract. Most tenancy agreements permit either party to end the contract within a pre-agreed period.

I have a somewhat similar issue. After having finished my Erasmus Mundus Master Program this summer and being unemployed till now in my home country, I would like to attend my graduation ceremony in Scotland this November.
I have several questions that I asked at UK VAC Information services, but since their reply was automatic and didn't sasisfy me, I post them here:
- What documents should I provide relating to my financial status? Would the bank statements form my account be sufficient?
- Shall I translate the bank statements if they are in French? (When I applied for the Student Visitor visa from France, it was OK. But now they seem to want every document translated)

And finally, would not my overall application sound 'suspicious' if I'm a young unemployed, unmarried female graduate applying for general visa to attend my graduation? Of course I provide hotel and ticket reservations for my trip.
