Tier 1 extension query - Urgent to decide on my stay here

Post by vennk0 » Sat Aug 20, 2011 12:04 pm

VISA Status : Tier-1 Visa
VISA Expiry : 16-Jul-2012

Question 1:

I am currently in UK but have to go back to India in Sep-2011 for 3 months (will be paid salary in INR only). Will be back to UK again in Dec-2011.

Planning to apply for extension in mid Jun-2012. So, when claiming for previous earnings can I show my 3 months Indian salary also as part of 12 months earnings?

If yes, can I convert INR into GBP? and can I also apply uplift factor?

Or is it that I should show only UK earnings (i.e., salary paid in UK)?

Question 2:

Can I apply for extension in mid May-2012 which is two months before my VISA expiry.

I sincerely request response on this asap so that I can decide on my travel to India next month.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Q1. You can include Indian the salary but you can't use the uplift ratio.

Q2. You can apply at any time but you have to be careful about applying too early. The guidance warns about doing this and creating a gap which will have to be bridged by another application.

45. We encourage applications to be made at least a month before the applicant’s extant (still existing) leave expires. Applicants should note however that if the application is made signiï¬

Hi,

When you say you can include Indian Salary, does it mean that I can convert INR into GBP right? or I should not include INR at all?

What I meant by conversion is INR * Conversion rate as mentioned in OANDA website.

Kindly confirm?
