Clarification on Previous Earnings for Tier1 General

Post by Anonymous26 » Thu Sep 08, 2011 4:34 pm

Hi Friends,

I need to extend my Tier-1 General in this month itself. I am going to use the courier service as I am unable to get in-person appointment.

My prev earnings from the window of 15 months falls between June/2010 and Aug/2011.
So, out of the 15 month window, I have enough points for my prev earnings from 12 months but, with a gap of 2 months in between, where there was no salary as I was out of job.

This is how I can show my earnings :

1) July/2010 - May/2011 ( 11 Months )
2) June/2011 and July/2011 ( 0 Salary, as I was out of job)
3) Aug/2011 ( 1 Month )

My question is, can I claim like this ? or does it have to be a consecutive 12 months ( without any gap) in a 15 months window ?

Could anyone clarify this?

Kind Regards,
Archer

Unless you have been on maternity or adoption-related leave, it has to be 12 consecutive months. So if you are starting in July 2010 you can't include July or August from 2011.

OK. Since I am applying in Sep/2011, I have 15 month window from Jun/2010 till Aug/2011.

In this window, can I claim for 12 consecutive months from Jun/2010 - May/2011 and discard the most recent months : Jun/2011, Jul/2011 and Aug/2011 ? Will this be alright ?

Please confirm.

Hi,

I am trying to proove my earnings from Jan 2011 - Aug 2011 8 months.

10th March -- (Jan Salary)
23rd March -- (Feb Salary)
26th April -- (March Salary)
23rd May -- (April Salary)
06th July -- (May & June Salary)
04th Aug -- (July Salary)
07th Sep -- (Aug Salary)

I am Self employed sole trader. The thing is May & June salary got deposited at one go. Will that be a problem for my case ?

Any pointers how to handle my situation. I don't want to give any chances for my application. I have booked an appointment on 30th Sept.

Please share your inputs.

Regards,
Suresh

Yes you can run it from June to May. All periods are counted in calendar months and it's the fifteen months immediately before the application. So, if you apply on 1st Sept your 15m window begins on June 1. If you apply on 15 Sept your 15m window begins on 16 June.

Hi Suresh - the deposits represent self employment income rather than salary. I'll talk you through it next week.

Someone has rudely hijacked this thread in the middle of an on-going discussion. Can a moderator split off that question into a new topic please?
