Anyone been waiting longer than I???

Refused : 18th February
Appealed: 03 March
Overturned & call letter ercieved: 07 July
Passport submitted at cochin: 15 July


Been waiting since, it;ll be a year wait in couple of months..

Any similar stories?

What was ur reason for refusal if you don't mind me asking?? Also, did u get a result from them after u went to your call date??

My husbands visa has been accepted!!! I am soo happy and will be returning on the 10th october!

Friends I checked the status of my application on VFS tracking website it shows:

Your Application is being sent to the application center. Please wait until it is ready for collection.

I am just hoping the result is positive. I am too excited. \m/ Whats the next step guys.

Hi All!

This forum has been amazing support to follow whilst we're all waiting.

My fiance has just found out his passport is ready to collect. Applied on 12th August.

Applied: 12th August
Location: Chennai BHC
Application under process: 18th August
Passport ready to collect: 28th September

I believe that's 26 actual working days. Can't collect until they open tomorrow so fingers crossed. Will keep this updated!

So nervous and excited!

Their finding was 2 bedroom flat for a couple would be overcrowding. They over turned the decision on appeal. Well kind of prosumed if they have overturned their inital decision it means they can now grant the visa no? We submitted passport along with decision letter (which only stated they have overturned their intial decision) and a copy of my passport. Assuming this is to stamp the visa no?

Amy: I know how u must have been feeling! I am genuinely really happy for u! Congrats again! I hope you both have a safe journey back to England on the 10th October!!

Password: You just have to wait until you get another final message saying that your passport is ready for collection. Should be any day now. No one knows if it’s a good sign or a bad sign until you actually collect your passport so fingers crossed! The good news is that you will find out real soon! Keep us all posted! :D

Dabby: Welcome to the board! :D Yeah this forum has been amazing for general advice and support from other members going through the same thing! Did your fiancé apply for a settlement visa or was it another type of visa?? 26 working days is really really quick! Hope its good news for u! Keep us all posted!

Jishar81: I’m still slightly confused. In the decision letter did it state clearly that they have overturned the decision and for you to submit your passport for them to actually issue you a visa or are u assuming all this?? From previous posts it does not take that long for them to issue a visa after an appeal has been heard or overturned. You might want to contact them via phone or email to track your application in more detail.

Finally... an ordeal over

Thanks for all the info and support of this forum.

My second application has been successful, my wife just collected her visa stamped.
From all the info we gathered and the time it takes for an appeal to go thro, we decided to re-apply.

Applied on June 1, refused on July 27th.
Reason: not met the english language requirement (even thou degree cert was fully in english)

Re-applied with medium of instruction and NARIC cert on Aug 9,
Received Visa on 27th September. (approx 6 weeks)

Finally an ordeal over and happy now.

Best of luck for all waiting to cross this one, don't lose hope and stick on.

This forum is so good to keep updated with what's happening and glad to know there are many people who have wait for so long to see there loved ones.

My case is a bit complex.

My fiance has applied for his Fiancee Visa from Mumbai South on 22/08/2011. He was previously in the UK but had to leave as his Work permit application was refused on grouds of deception as he was one of those guys who got duped in the CCOL scam in 2009.

He left on his own within 28 days of refusal.

We are in a relationship since Jan 2011 and have decided to get married this Oct. I am just worried that his previous refusal might affect our current application.

We love each other so much and cannot bear the separation. We have done our best to prove our relation is genuine and that we want to stay together.

Its been 28 working days since his application and still now news.I guess this is going to be one long battle for us.

Praying to GOD that his visa comes through before Oct as we having our wedding date on 31st October.

All I know is that a bad immigration history sometimes has a influence on the final decision but what's more important is how u prove how genuine ur relationship is. If you have supplied this plus all relevant information then u should be ok.

Hope he gets it soon and u guys have a good wedding. Keep us all posted

We applied for an Unmarried Partner Visa so he can work and we can save up for our ideal wedding later on.

No real reason for refusal. They acknowledge we've been living together for years but they think it was as students who share accommodation anyway not as a couple! Only he was a full time student at the time not me. Ridiculous. They've got all our utility bills, tenancy agreements, photos of us over the years as a couple. I really don't know what more proof we could have given them.

It's so heartbreaking and financially crippling. I've no idea how the appeals process works or how long that takes.

Hey dabby.

Once u appeal and if u decide to send additional information with the appeal they could overturn there decision and issue u a visa which normally takes anywhere between 4 to 8 weeks. If the appeal is unsuccessful then u will have to wait to receive a call letter from the tribunal services which will take place in court in the uk which u will have to attend and that can be anytime between 4 to 7 months.

A lot of people re-apply rather than going through the appeal process because of these time frames.

My advice to you would be to seek professional help so that they can guide u in the right direction. Try and hang in there. Everything takes time and will all eventually get sorted out :)

So sorry to hear the outcome. Sometimes i think, these guys are there to make some money.Why would they keep such complicated visa rules otherwise :( Its heart breaking and i can feel your pain as this is what we felt when my hubby's work permit was refused in UK.

I am having sleepless nights. Cant wait for an outcome.

Autumn489 u are right. Its not fair what they are putting us through. Were innocent people in love who just want to be with there partners. Sometimes I don't think they realise how stressful this can be on a relationship/marriage.

The sad thing is there is nothing we can do apart from obey there rules and just wait. Waiting is the hardest part.
