BC and then travelling

Post by juliajules1979 » Mon Nov 07, 2011 3:36 pm

Hiya

This question has probably been asked, but I have searched and cannot find any similar.

My husband is applying for BC on the 18/02/2012. A few weeks after he has a wedding to attend in his country. Would he be allowed to travel after he submits his application, because I read somewhere that he must be present in the UK on the date of submission but i'm not sure if he must be present in the UK on the date that the application is received by HO or whether he needs to be present for a little while after.

Could somebody please advise.

Many thanks

Your husband needs to be present in the UK when the HO receives his application (so a few days after sending it to them). He can travel abroad afterwards.

Best to apply using NCS which will photocopy his documents and forward his application to the HO. He will be able to keep his passport for travel. NCS will ask your husband not to travel for 5 days following the appointment just to make sure he is in the country when the application is received.
