Visit to Gibraltar

Visit to Gibraltar

I am on Tier 1 visa valid till 2011. I wish to visit Gibraltar for few days. Can anyone tell me if I can only turn up at the airport with this visa without a seperate Gibraltar visa.

hi, based on what i read on the internet it seems that u need a visa to enter Gibraltar.Few people may get away with this claiming that they have 1 year visa to be in the UK but i think u should check wih officials on Tel + 350 200 51725 to be double sure.
The intent here is to avoid any possible question or confusion by UKBA officials at the time of ur extention.

Hi

well, its every interesting topic. If you have vistor visa to UK, then you can travel to Gibraltor without visa...BUT if you are UK resident (student, Point based or WP) then you have to apply for Gibraltor visa.

I searched on this back in 2005 while I was on WP. I had to get Gibraltor visa by paying £30 at that time.... and visa was checked while I was crossing boarder from Spain to Gibraltor. It was London Passport Office, who issued me visa at that time....

I have gone through Gibraltar Govt Website and it says that if a person has a multiple entry visa of more than 12 months I do not need a visa. I called the london office they were not sure as it is not written in the visa stamp. I guess I will have to ring Gibraltar on tuesday ..
