Urgent - Bank Statement please help

Post by gka » Thu Dec 29, 2011 5:51 pm

Dear immigration gurus,

I need to prepare my ILR documentation for PEO and have a question on bank statements.

I am with HSBC so as we all aware that they don't stamp and sign off the statements. One of my bank statements is on their letterhead with my name, account number, date etc. but no signature or stamp from them. Please advise if this is sufficient or could cause an issue.

I believe it meets their requirements as it has a logo, my name, account number and even the transactions.

Many thanks

Gagan

Hi Gagan,

I think the rules suggest that for statements that are not originals from the bank- should be stamped-I haven't had any problems with the bank- make an appointment and they are usually quite helpful-they might be happier printing the statement out themselves though-otherwise you could ring and request a duplicate for the required period-they may ask for a small payment for this.

Many thanks for your response.

The issue is only with my last statement. I visited HSBC branch and they printed it on their letterhead but no signature and stamping.

Just wanted to check if this is sufficient. I am sure a lot of other people with HSBC must have used it.

Thanks

In past i have requested HSBC to stamp each page and they have done that for me. As per home office requirement:

What the bank statements must show

Bank statements you send must be on official bank stationery, and must show each of the payments that you are claiming. If you wish to send electronic bank statements from an online account you should also send a supporting letter from the bank on company headed paper confirming that the documents are authentic. Alternatively, electronic bank statements with the official stamp of the bank that issued the statements will be accepted. The stamp must appear on every page of the statement.

I have the same problem. Just need last statement and HSBC is refusing to stamp or sign.

Even visited the branch and argued over phone but no joy. Real pain after being a valued customer for 6 yrs.

Anyone any suggestions? I hear that the latest statement can be a month from date of application i.e. if I am applying 1st week of Feb I can use Dec statement received in mid Jan.
