Maint. fund query - Child born in UK - Tier (1) General Ext

Post by bala_abirami » Sat Dec 31, 2011 10:48 am

Hello,

Happy new year!!!

I am filing my Tier 1 General Migrant Extension application next month (Jan 2012). I had a kid born on Feb 2011 and would not have been in UK for 12 months when I am filing for the extension. The query is

1. whether I should maintain 533 GBP for maintenance fund for this kid
2. or should it be 1600 GBP

I am also considering filing for the kid's visa in Feb 2012 once the kid completes 12 months in UK, if the maintenance fund is 1600 GBP. Will there be any issues if I take this approach.

Any answers much appreciated as this is urgent.

Best Regards

The 12 month threshold refers to the PBS migrant rather than the dependant. Your dependant child is entitled to show the reduced maintenance amount if you have been in the UK for more than 12 months.
