Spouse visa Qs

Post by jalebi » Thu Jan 19, 2012 10:07 pm

I have some questions regarding the spouse visa which I had asked in another topic but they seem to have gone unnoticed. I was hoping someone could answer them for me..

1)My sis in law seems to have mislaid her nikkah nama (marriage certificate) and can't seem to find it. Is there a way to get a copy in Pakistan?

2)Has anyone heard of these 'tutors' who teach students regarding the English test and supposedly are better than going to a college? I've heard good things about the SLS college in Jhelum, Pakistan but it takes time to get there and therefore people are finding alternatives.

3)There is a rumour going round that in April of next year there is going to be a law change which states that people earning 20,000 a year will only be allowed to call over their spouses. Any truth in this? What has the government said in regards to this?

Anyone have the info?

There are 3 copies of the nikah nama, one for bride, one for groom , one for union coumcil.

If you have lost both your papers your can approach the union coucil wherre your papers are registered.

Any tutor or college is fine. It will depend on the starting level of the student on how much tutoring they will need.

There are many rumours about April 2012 changes in immigration law. No one will know for sure until it actually is announced.

Thanks for the reply nadiii :)

Well, my sis in law has done a BSC (whatever that is) so is educated enough to pass the test inshAllah. I just wanted to make sure whether tutoring was a good idea in place of going to a college.

In regards to changes in April, it is worrying for many people as it might create problems for them applying for a spouse visa (which I guess is the reason, the government wants to propose these new rules). It might be too late to do anything by the time they announce the rules..

Update on the lost nikkah nama(s)..

My sis in law has obtained a computerised copy which is a printout with information in both English and Urdu. I'm assuming that doesn't need to be translated.

Just to confirm, will she need a copy from the Union Council?
