Biometric for dependent booked individually

Post by Sagaya Rani » Fri Apr 22, 2011 12:31 am

Hi,
My Husband applied for tier 1 general visa from inside UK and and for me Tier 1 dependent. we got letter for biometrics application last week and since we were trying as family we were not getting any slots open. every time we call we get a response saying we might get a chnace in June 3rd week as they open slots next week for June. That is a very crtical time for me as we are expecting baby by June mid.
we checked in online and there it was mentioned people over age 18 will not come under family group so we booked seperately with our reference number for next week (there were many slots open for individual appt but not for family). my husband slot is at 10 AM and for me its at 10:10 Am.
will this be ok? will they cancel when we go for biometrics saying that we should book at the same time?
please do help me by clarifying this query.

As you applied together in one application, separate appointment in your case looks unacceptable.
you need to review your definition of person over 18 not part of a family group as below in other post:

http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=72749

"What is family group?
If you are applying and have dependants included on your application, you must make appointments for them at the same time as you make your own appointment.

The following people cannot be considered as part of your family group:
i) Persons over the age of 18
ii) Other relatives making a separate application in another category
(*Persons over the age of 18 - refers to children who are now over 18 but were minors when they applied for a leave last time).
If the application you are submitting is a biometric application you must attend the appointment as a family group. "

Still you can call them to check if they could consider because of your circumstances

Hi,
Thanks a lot. we will call them again on tuesday morning to confirm else we have to cancel that appointment and wait :(. we have told them about our current situation but they said they can't help us in anyway as this is the rule and we have wait until after we get the baby i suppose.
Thanks once again.

Please keep us updated on your progress as I am sure there are plenty of us who have been facing the problem.

P.S. after you cancel the appointment. keep on looking for on-line appointments in the evening every few minutes as they open new slots in the evening time and that's how I booked mine.

Hope this advise helps

Try to book together online. I tried to book for myself and my dependants and it kept on showing for two days that no appointments till June and then suddenly two days ago around 7 pm it showed a vacant slot in Glasgow for April 27 and I grabbed it...:-)

So better keep trying in different times of the day.

Cheers

hi,
Thanks for that, when my husband was trying to book in hphone alternatively i was trying the online for slots all time, i guess we were not lucky enough. now we won't be able to do another online as there is an individual appt already booked. now waiting for tuesday so that we could confirm with them ( i suppose the answer would be standard as we should not do it :( ) fingers crossed.

hi, yes i read this post today morning and asked the person who has mentioned he applied seperately. he said there would be no prb, so with that confidence we are planning to go. Fingers crossed.
customer care is tooo worst they were literally shouting saying don't you know, can't you understand this that not even ready to hear what the problem is :(
Thanks for your wishes...will update on the happenings so that it would be useful for even other who face similar issues in future.

Hi,
As per rules they will not agree it seems. My husband went in first and the officer told him that there is a dependent under him and why he has come alone. My husband explained him that i was nearing the delivery date and there was no appointment given within that then he asked me to come in and did it together. He was nice so it went on well. But he warned us that weshould not do like that at all
