sikaba, can you help please? That is, can you provide a link to a website that confirms that the law of Ghana permits proxy marriages to happen, and confirms that such marriages are legally valid under the law of Ghana?

I am struggling to find such a webpage.

sikaba, you say "have a proxy marriage certificate". Who issued that certificate? In which part of Ghana was it issued?

i said proxy marriage certificate because i wanted to highlight the fact that it was a proxy marriage but its legal as obie has giving links to.The certificate is legal in ghana and hence legal all over the world including uk. its like any marriage certificate issued in ghana. My question which i have still not got answer to is that fact that the home office is requesting for documents proving that the marriage is not that of a marriage of convenience and all am asking is what documents will i need to prove that it is not a marriage of convenience.

It appears they dont have problem with the validity of the marriage but rather the subsisting nature of your marriage. Whether or not it is genuine.

Evidence of cohabitation, joint financial arrangement like bank account, tenancy agreement. Photos together. Reference from families and friends who know you.
