To anyone who's been waiting for more than 6 months: what you can do is seek help with private solicitors. Then you can post your a request to UKBA to process your application within two weeks' period. If they do not process your application within 2 weeks' time, you have the right to challenge them in High Court. Hope this helps

Hi all - I was wondering whether there were any fellow PSW applicants living in the Edinburgh South West constituency on this forum? I'd like to make an appointment with our MP, but our MP is Alistair Darling, and so I thought maybe if one or two other people in the same boat wanted to come with we might have more of a chance of being listened to? Also he terrifies me.

Hey guys, I just read this news UKBA workers might go on a strike which means further delay in the processing.

Hello,

My friend lost her PSW visa when she came on a holiday in May. She applied for a replacement on 26th May and enrolled biometrics on 18th June and still has no reply from the UKBA. If there is anyone else in the same situation, or has applied for replacement BRP in the past could you please update on how long the precess takes?

DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED : 15TH MARCH 2012
BIOMETRICS SUBMITTED : 10TH APRIL 2012
DOCUMENTS WAITING : 28th JULY 2012
BRP WAITING : ?

I have written to my area MP, shadow immigration minister MP Chris Bryant, BBC, SKY and other media channels complaining to them about our long awaiting documents, passports. I suggest complaining to your respective high commissions in the UK and also your respective countries news channels as this will trigger people and political pressure on the UKBA.

After all that writing, complaining finally documents arrive. I hope those who havn't got their will continue to keep the pressure on the UKBA. Best of Luck. God bless

How do you pay your lawyer to fight UKBA in court when you have been out of work for 6months?

Hey Mate.

I have done all of this already. I think more people should... One person will never be enough. we need support. What has further happened to that guy who wrote the petition? we cant hear from him anymore?

Applied: 5th March
Bio : 5th April
BRP : 20th July
Docs : Waiting

Actions taken:

Contacted MP, who tried to contact UKBA on my behalf
Sent a written letter to UKBA team explaining my urgent situation.

Good luck to all and keep hammering UKBA till they respond.

That's up to you. I'm just saying that's something you can do after 6 months have passed. The solicitor would charge you £400-£600, which is a bit drastic, but should either get your documents back faster or give you the pleasure of holding UKBA responsible.

Also, someone on this forum (2-3 pages back) mentioned that they have waited for 6 months and called UKBA to enquire about their progress, only to hear that the period is actually 7 months. That's complete nonsense, the officer on the other side of the line gave misleading and clearly false information.

Hi.. well my MP took about a week to get back, but quite honestly I don't think it helped me much because even they were finding it difficult to get in touch with UKBA. I guess the direct letter that I sent to UKBA helped...
