Naturalisation and PR/ILR Enquiry

Post by strizh6 » Mon Sep 10, 2012 12:46 pm

I got my PR based on 5 year rule in August 2012(non EEA national family member of EEA National). We married in 2006 and are in a process of divorce now.
Both of us have been working and studying for all this time.
I heard that applying and waiting times could be really long and I do not want to involve my husband into this process in any way:

If I want to apply for BC after 12 month, can I apply as a self-dependent person without providing passport and paperwork of my husband for the application?
What do I have to provide as supporting documents?: BC fees, my passports(old with which I entered the UK and a new one), letter from UKBA conforming PR , PR blue book, Test of Life in the UK, Letters from Employers, Letter from University, Sickness Insurance(should it be for the period from when I received my PR ?), my HMRC Tax papers for the period of 6 Years?

Could you please advise?

Thanks in advance!

If you apply in August 2013 (1 year after PR vignette date) then you can apply independently from your partner.

The last page of the application form lists the required supporting documents.
BC fees, my passports(old with which I entered the UK and a new one), letter from UKBA conforming PR , PR blue book, Test of Life in the UK
Required.
PR blue book of your partner is not required but I assumed you meant the sticker in your passport.
Letters from Employers, Letter from University, Sickness Insurance(should it be for the period from when I received my PR ?), my HMRC Tax papers for the period of 6 Years?
Not required.

Also if you have PR, there is no need for sickness insurance (for immigration purposes. Might be a good idea to have it for other purposes).

Hi , Thank you very much for your reply. It is now much more clear for me.

The "PR blue book" I was talking about is a 3 page foldable blue cardboard paper with a sticker inside.
UKBA did not put this sticker in my actual non EEA passport, but provided as a separate blue book which I have to always carry with my passport when traveling.

Once again,
Thank you very much!!!

Just wondering: what does this blue book state on the title page?

The residence sticker on the Blue Book supposed to be given to Only EEA members.

The Title of the Blue Book is:

UK RESIDENCE DOCUMENTATION
FOR A NATIONAL OF AN EEA STATE

Any chance you can post a photo, which omits personal details?

PR is attached on page 4 (when opened). Page 2 asks for signature of the holder, page 3 Emergency contact, page 5 UKBA Sheffield return address if found.
Be good.

I know how this looks like as I have one myself. I wanted to know what strizh6's card would have on the title page.
