Hi, thank you for all the information on this thread...what a supportive bunch you are.
We have just applied for a fiance visa in Cairo. I took legal advice as I am disabled and the case is a little more complicated than a standard case.
I am going through all those anxiety issues that seem to run through this forum like letters through rock.
It's been a tough 4 months of case building while not being able to be near to the man I love. (We met in February and due to ill health I have been unable to travel again so it's 7 months of skype and hope).
Any words of wisdom or learned gems would go a long way right now. |

Hi Shaz,
Thanks for your reply. It's been a long time coming for you. I hope you get your visa. Remind me again...are you applying for a fiance visa or spouse visa? How much longer do you anticipate waiting for a decision?
Our application was submitted on the 17th September.
When and where did you meet your man? :-/ |

I wish you hear something soon. Did you marry in the UK or are you applying as unmarried but living as married?
It's a minefield.
We met in Egypt in February. I was there on holiday and made some good friends but things with Mohamed developed into more. InshaaAllah we get the chance to cement our relationship by law and Islam and for the future we dream of. |

we married in the mosque here in the uk and then married in cairo for the legal side of it
i received an email today from worldbridge, not the standard rubbish but a proper email lol it says " We are very sorry but you application still needs further checks, you will be informed with a decision once it is made."
this worries me as we had all the checks done with the first application, and they were happy with everything except the english test!! _________________ Submitted application - Cairo 10th oct 2011

I wish I had some words of comfort. Perhaps it is simply a case of on your previous application they did not look further than the supporting paperwork. ie: As soon as they noticed the problem with the test papers they may have stopped looking at your application.
I know nothing of the process, Shaz. I do hope you get some good news soon. There appears to be a lot of waiting but have a little more patience and InshaAllah it will all come good for you. Remember after a time of difficulty comes ease.
Try to keep your chin up. Every day is one day closer to a decision. (I find that helps be the tiniest amount...it wouldn't be so bad we knew it would be a positive outcome).

sorry to hear that again ,
you must appeal this decision,
what is their basis for refusal now?

Subhanallah. My heart goes out to you both.
What did they say was the reason? Perhaps a lawyer could be useful in fighting your case.
I hope somebody comes along with some help soon. _________________ Fiance visa

they refused because they said no way any job offer would still stand after the first application even thought we provided a new job offer letter, they also said he was arrested and he has never been arrested in his life.
it was all assumptions on their part and i think it is totally unfair, i am gonna try and appeal _________________ Submitted application - Cairo 10th oct 2011

Shaz, my heart goes out to you.
Where in England are you? PM me if you wish.
I really think you should get a solicitor to do the appeal. There are plenty around that will look over your case for a small fee and advise you what is best; whether appeal or new application.
I hired a solicitor from the off but was let down so many times. I have spent a lot of time looking for a new solicitor; just in case and have a few in my bookmarks that are highly recommended. Let me know if you want me to pass them on to you.
Please try to stay strong. Allah is the best provider. Remember this. _________________ Fiance visa

no point for new application as they will fall under the new rules which will be tougher. just appeal it , get advice from a layer. and isa everything will be ok
good luck.

i have seen a really good soliscitor who said we should have appealed the first refusal!! but it is too late for that one now
he said we should appeal as its our only hope, he said if ukba think the job aint real they need to prove it aint, which they cat as i now have a new job offer and photos of the business and bills from them, so i my family have helped me raise the fee for solicitor n we are appealing, he said it will take 6 months omg soo long _________________ Submitted application - Cairo 10th oct 2011
