Applied for EEA3&EEA4 with all supporting documents ( 5 years P60, Contract of employment for 5 years up to the date of Application, bills, tenancy agreements and joint bank account for 5 years).
I received my COA for Permanent Residence on the 5 Sept together with My EEA Spouse Permanent Residence Card.

Appl for eea4 & eea3 on 25th of June, COA for EEA4 on 5th Sept with perm resid for EEA3. 16th of Oct I received resid card as family member of an EEA Nat dated 3rd Oct 2012 instead of perm resid card
Can anyone please tell me how to deal with.

Call the HO on Monday. Seems to be a mistake. If you got the name of the caseworker, write a letter to the HO addressing him and asking to correct the mistake. |

I called HO on 16th Oct and they suggested me to write Letter to the European case worker. I wrote letter to the attention of the person who signed the cover letter and I included the following copies of documents:
- COA for permanent residence
-Permanent Residence of my spouse (EEA National) with the cover letter.
-The Immigration Status Document I received (Residence Card of family Member of an EEA National expiring Oct 2017) with cover Letter.
-My Previous Residence Card as Family Member of an EEA National expiring on Dec 2013.

If you already got advice from the HO and followed that, you should have said so at the beginning and saved all the discussion!! |

You should have given a full description of your case from the start. If your description is vague and incomplete, so will be the advice. You were asking how to deal with it, when you had already dealt with it.

Wow, it took almost 3 months for them to even confirm the application.
I applied for EEA4 on the 8th of May2012, still waiting for PR. |

Received my CoA today. I was least expecting to get one, and not so soon at that (timelines in my signature).
For anyone wanting to know its contents: The CoA mentions my case ID, confirms that I have applied for PR and my right to employment while my application is being processed. There is also a section advising employers how to contact the Employee Checking Service should they need to.
So far, i'm pleased. |

Looks like they are pretty much up-to-date with COA now. Now hopefully they will focus on improvement in times for issuing PR.
Non-EEA Family Member of an Austrian National
COA for Marriage Feb 2006
Married in April 2006
First RC received June 2006
2nd RC received Oct 2007 (had to reapply due to new passport)
EEA4 application sent: July 4th
UKBA received: July 5th
COA received: September 28th (dated Sept 24)
PR: ??

I don't know about "back to normal" as I haven't read (m)any cases of CoAs being issued within 4 days of application receipt.
However, it does show that the UKBA is capable of being efficient and the question is why there is not this level consistency on average for non-EEA family members.
I am now hoping - with renewed optimism - that, as my application has been accepted and assigned a case ID, it will be processed and returned in a month or two. |

'Back to normal' was not my words - I'd challenge anyone to define what 'normal' is for European applications. We have, however, been seeing a speeding up of COA receipts lately and your quick turnaround suggests that with COA at least, they've caught up at the moment. Like you I'm more optimistic about getting a response inside 6 months, though a couple of hard luck stories we are still seeing in the latest entries in the EEA2 thread show that it's not to be taken for granted. |

Congratulations Hiyos! Always good to hear some good news.
If you don't mind me asking, would you have classed your application as comparatively straightforward (i.e. married to EEA national, EEA national working the entire 5 years) or was it more complex than that? No need to respond if you feel this is too personal, but it might give us some more insight into how the UKBA are working their way through the queues.
e.g. I applied and received COA a few days earlier than you and am still waiting for PR, but we had to provide a stack of paper to cover my wife's trail through various treaty rights statuses over the 5 years. |
