we are saving our brainpower for the interesting questions :D

But seriously - phone the HSMP helpline. They should be keeping track of how many people have your same questions and it may help them to improve the design of the form in the future if your questions are recorded in their logs.

Yes D

India

I am quite certain this is in pounds as that is what is suggested in the guidance notes
Q31. Please insert the relevant income band from the guidance notes: ????? (dont know what to mention..)
I was a little unsure on this one. I put XX,000+

Now now..no need to for the 'I hope you crash and die' attitude twisha...
the questions you asked are dead easy as you yourself mentioned...just requires a bit of common sense really...

Band - D
Country Code - India
Income - in GBP
Income Band - 7500+

Thanks Ali and Davee .... The point here is that I had a idea about what to mention ... but i wasnot confirmed on the Qs that I asked. ....

Since I was about to apply in 1 day time I though these Qs someone will suggest even in one hour time .... and I will be able to send out my application .... but instead got a disapoiting response from ball ...

I didnt mean "hope u crash thing" but yeh I intended to tell him tht .... the Qs were stupid I agree but the time wasted in wrting that respones could have been utilized in mentioning the answers and then may be bash me for asking simple Qs .... nobody will mind it ....

This forum is so good that I cant even think of giving idea of i hope u crash to anyone as i am in the same boat...

Hope you guys understand the situation

cheers!!!

Hi Twisha,

Well said!!!

For everyone in this forum my kind request wud be whn u don hav answers for sometg, you better ignore wt u read , instead of commenting on the query..its uncessary whn u try to bash at someones innocence..

It is'nt tat we dont knw answrs and post it here..we wud need to double check wt we do is right or not..tats it..

but ppl in ths forum take it as advantage and mock with their replies which is cruel on their part.

Am very thankful to ths forum as this has wonderful posts..but still this forum do have some ppl who thnk thy are genius whn they knw sometg extra out of experience..I dont knw where from they get ths attitude

Now now people...no need to get worked up about such mundane matters as prissy replies from some of the members...focus on what you need to do and do it...

Ikon - the same ignoring analogy applies to you too buddy...if you don't like someones comments, why don't YOU ignore them and move on?

Try and take it all in stride...

Good luck twisha!

hi ali,

Stil u havnt got the point which was emphasizing, why shd i ignore a mesage which was written just to prove a point that he knws better thgs??

I asked ppl to ignore a mesg if thy don knw an answer..i dint ask anyone to ignore whn they have a valid point to put in

Morever i wud be interested to see what you reply when u get such answers for a real need.

understand the situation of HSMPtry , who says he is planning to apply may 30th which is already gone..so please give due respect for others.

put u in his shoes, then it gives a hard feel whn u see such replies..

and so began the s**t slinging...

dude this is my last post on this thread because the title of the thread doesn't read 's**t slinging' ...get my drift?

I think YOU missed the point instead...what i meant was...you don't like it - don't read it...its not about the validity or the invalidity of the comment/point...its about commenting on someone else's comment...moreover if you look closely at ball's comment he's got a valid point there...yes, he has been a bit cheeky but thats that. Calling up HSMP and asking about this is not a bad idea at all...also his point on improving the structure of the form itself makes sense...so you see...your post was just an example of noob hopping onto the band wagon...

Secondly, twisha is a SHE and not a HE...

Thirdly, I've been in many a people's shoes...I've been there and done that...not being cocky but thats the truth. So kindly refrain from even going near that subject.

Let's please put this to rest here...after all this is not our 'fight thread'

Lay back and relax dude...its summer time  ..well almost...

Cheerios!

Now is the first time that I have looked at this thread in several days. I'd like to apologize for the furore that my reply caused. I meant to make a facetious joke about the lack of replies from others by saying that people were saving their brainpower. I meant to suggest in earnest that Twisha register her confusion with the HSMP team in order that they might record her feedback to improve the design of the form and the content of the guidance. I thank ALee_80 for injecting some common sense into this thread.

I too had many questions about how to interpret the guidance notes and how to fill in the form. When I had a list of questions to which I had been unable to find answers by searching this forum and others, I phoned the HSMP helpline and asked the agents there. They get paid a salary to take calls from people in our situation so I didn't feel bad at all about contacting them - it is their job to be helpful to us. (If it is not the job of the helpline employees to provide help, someone please tell me what their job truly is and I will stand corrected.)

Best of luck to all, including ikon400.

Ball - Apologies over the gender talk to up! Should have been more diverse :)

just a random thought as I haven't really been following most of the threads...have you got your HSMP sorted?

Hi ALee

I've had a hiccup: my W-2 earnings are several thousand dollars less than the gross amounts of pay reported on my wage slips because of our lovely American custom of pre-tax deductions. When I phoned the HSMP helpline before submitting my application to ask if I should include any additional info b/c of this disparity between gross and W-2 earnings, the helpline person said it wouldn't be necessary. I've applied for a review of my application on the basis that the amount I claimed - the W-2 amount - is corroborated by the evidence that I supplied.

When I spoke with the caseworker who decided my application, he encouraged me to apply for a review - so I think I have a shot at success. However, if the review fails I shall have to try again with more/different proofs of my income. I think it's funny that no one is arguing that I don't deserve the points I claimed, the problem is I *may* be eligible to claim more than I did except I can't produce any proof that all the income I may be eligible to claim was reported to the taxation authorities! What a headache. As my family's accountant said: "Well if we hardly understand our tax system, how can we expect anyone else to?"

Thanks for asking. I'm so eager to get back to the UK that this waiting game is really wearing on me.
