The power to remove the right of appeal

The power to remove the right of appeal
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Under s.29 of the Asylum and Immigration (Treatment of Claimants etc) Act 2004 the Government can remove rights of appeal against entry clearance refusal through statutory instrument having laid a draft which is approved by resolution of each House of Parliament.
The full extract can be viewed at : http://www.iasuk.org/C2B/PressOffice/di ... 236&Type=1
I am concerned that the HO will "activate" this law at the same time that they introduce the new "points system" in January 2008.
Does anybody have any additional information concerning this possibilty?
It's a bit more than a possibility. It's going to happen. No appeals from abroad, but rather fresh applications must be made instead.
It affects everyone in the Managed Migration programme. Thankfully, it does not affect those in the Family Formation/Family Reunioni programme.
Thank you for your reply.
So will this affect Spouse Visa Applications from non-EU countries?
Spouses - or any other visa in the Family Formation/Reunion programme - are not part of the points scheme and are not affected.
Sorry, I did not make my question clear. I meant to ask: Will the right of appeal be removed for Spouse Visa's in the New Year?
