Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up. You are right September is always a busy season for applications. My observation is also based on the assessment of last year application during this time. As we both have applied on the 10 Sept and as per googledrive record last year 7 applications had raised on the same date and they all got responses between last week of Jan till mid of Feb 2013. But as always all the applications are different from each others in terms of their circumstances so we can only estimate based on the previous record.
Thanks

Thanks a lot for your brilliant and thoughtful input. Shahkakaram brother, yeh, I like to prepare and plan things well in advance so there isn't any chance of any surprise but you are right, UKBA can surprise anyone.

Shahjee, the reason for not applying under tier 1 is the fact that I had to show 50-55k income for my tier 1 visas, which I was able to show at that time but now the job is different and I have been made redundant and I can't fulfil the income threshold. I was advised that the best bet then is to apply under 10 year rule. I am under the impression that if I go for Tier 1 route for ILR then I still have to show the same income threshold. Let me know if this is correct or incorrect because I don't have to then I can do through this route as I can easily show the income around 30K.

Hope it makes sense
Hi usman.tariq,
You are right regards to the income, if you want to apply through Tier1, 5 years route you have to provide evidence that you are still earning that 50-55k.
I was in the exact same situation earlier this year, and if I would have taken the tier1 route than i need to provide evidence for 65k and I decided to go the LR route, and by the Grace of Allah, got every thing sorted in time.
I hope the same for you. All the best.
kind regards
Shahjee

Pls give me your opinion.thanks
Hi joanie,
I would suggest to go and record the biometric details, its not a lot of money, but if you didn't record they might send your initial application back to you, and that will be a problem. You don't want the process on the FLR(FP) stop till you get an acknowledgement that they have accepted your request to vary your application from FLR(FP) to SET(LR). Once your receive a letter acknowledging that, than every thing is hunky dory. And every thing will be in order than.
All the best .

A small silly question but useful. That what are the best envelopes/bags for sending and receiving back (prepaid) from HO from following list:

Plastic mailing bags
Paper envelope
Paper bubble envelope

Hello Coolmind ,

Its really doesn't make any difference although plastic bags and paper bubble envelope are most reliable ...post office guys will help you out for pre paid track able special delivery :P
But don't forget take the snap of track able reference number from the prepaid envelope or post office reciept will have that reference number printed on it :) so the only reason you are sending pre paid special delivery envelope so you can easily track your document through their website by keep checking on their web site after three months for your own piece of mind otherwise HO will send you on second class registered post where i think you can not track them

Btw you never share your time line with us  or you still collecting information on every bit and pieces of useful question :)

Best of luck

Thanks for reply. Actually to me ukba is a child ghost who make us frightful by their childish silly acts sometime, that's why these silly questions are essential to ask :D. Are paper bubble bags are fine and strong as they will stay at ukba in folded position for sometime for the return of documents.

hi cool mind
for some reason i cant PM you so here it is
As per my opinion you can't leave the address field blank as its a special delivery envelop you have to write the address you can do one thing put your existing address on it and when you move change your address in UKBA and get royal mail redirection service on your old address

hope this helps

Today received email from Home Office that my payment has been processed (which was actually taken out of my account on 19th Aug) and my application is being considered. Has anyone received this kind of email.. Please let me know..

Why are they taking too long to send the Biometric letter. Is there any change in their process that they are now sending emails that the Application has been received or being considered.
They did say they are taking email addresses now to confirm application status but that's the first I've heard of someone getting an email update... well good for you!

Online

Hi all ,
Good to hear that atleast they started emailing .
I wish ukba start accepting SET(LR) application online ... It's easier . Time saving and environment friendly as well like they did tier 4 ..
They should stop sending paper base bio invitations...now a days every buddy is using email so they should give an option to recieve bio metric invitation online or paper base :P ?

Sometimes home office send a feed back form to the successful candidate to give them a feed back as a customer point of view ... If by any chance any lucky member of this forum got it so should highlight these point that do all process online much easier and quicker like they doing for Tier 4 now days ..

Online process is actually environmental friendly , quick and easier for both parties to deal with ... They should introduce all process online or probably they don't want to take risks of fraud involved in it .. Could be possible
Best of luck every one ..

Even I received an email from UKVI 2-3 days back confirming that they have received my application and the payment is processed.

Still waiting for my biometric invitation letter.
