Another question - I have got a referral from a friend of mine but it is very hard to get a second referral from some one who knows the children in professional capacity. Because the GP, kids are registered with, has declined to provide referral as they don't want to disclose their personal details. Is there any guidance in situation like these?
Many thanks in advance.

I think you will be surprised just how quickly entitlement applications under section 1(3) are dealt with ..... usually well less than a month. And why not, there is no discretion for UKBA to exercise ... instead just a simple need to check documents, showing for example that you do indeed have ILR, and the births were in the UK.
I had the same problem, I called and I was told to get another friend to sign.
Hi,
I am having the same problem. I have friends who are British and can sign but, it is very hard to find somebody who is associated with the child.
Do I need to call them and confirm and also mention that in the application that only firends of my have signed or can I just get 2 of my friends to sign and go ahead with the application. Please advice.

I wouldn't worry about calling them, I'd just get my friends to sign if I were you. A number of people were in the same situation

hi everyone,
i just wanted to ask that as im applying for my 2 children aged 14 and 16 for registration by MN1, and their school refused to fill the referee section as it required their passport details. My question here is that does it matter that both referees give their passport number. cant they just fill the rest in except passport details.

Thanks for everyone who replied. I eventually got the signatures from GP as I asked GP not put his Passport number because the Guidance notes suggest that if a person is not willing to disclose then he can write "available on request".
Surprisingly it took just over a month for the certificates to arrive. Sent on 19th April, money was taken on 26 Apr and certificates received on 21 May.

think its something to do with payment or payment form. its nothing to concern yourself about, even for naturalisation applications you get that as well

Hi All
I am filing MN1 form for my one year old baby. I am going to ask my baby's GP to fill refree section. Do GP usually happy to sign this form? What if they do not provide passport number? Will it be OK for UK BA and NCS?
If GP and health visitor refuse to sign who else can sign for one year old?

You may ask 2 of your friends to sign it for you. I have done that for my kid as my GP refused to sign.
