Well you visa status is Indefinite Leave to Remain.

It is the Biometric Residence Permit that expire, and not the ILR status, which will continue to be valid, unless you depart the UK for a continuous period of 2 year.

Many thanks.

May be I'm doing something different, but for me its coming to be £1900. Is it because my visa expiration date is in Nov 2024 ? I just tried calculating it again and its £1900 .

Please see my answers below (in bracket) to all the questions I'm filling out.
Are you currently in the UK? (No)
Are you under 18 and in local authority care? (No)
What is your nationality? (Indian)
What is your date of birth? (1978)
About the person you are joining in the UK
What is their visa route? (settlement)
What is their visa type? (wife)
What is their visa expiration date? (Nov 2024)
So, what Shall I put in visa expiration date please? Also, the 'their' visa type should be Husband (they'r asking about the person you r joining in UK)

Perhaps you should choose "Applying alone" or "Coming to the UK with dependants".

Hi Vinny,

Unfortunately, thats not an option
https://www.immigration-health-surcharg ... er/Joining

The form specifically asks for "About the person you are joining in the UK" to calculate the amount of IHS need to be paid.

I think all it does is calculates on the basis of number of years the visa of person in UK valid for (eg I tried putting in year 2114 for the validity of my visa, and it comes up with £19900 :)

The 3rd option "person you are joining" asked about the expiry date of this person's visa. It appears to be about someone with limited leave, not a British citizen nor someone who was settled.

As Obie explained, ILR status doesn't expire.

I don't think that this is the correct option.

Hi Vinny,
Yes you are correct. It seems for a person with limited leave to remain. However the fact that there is an option of 'Settlement' in 'their visa type' and asking for a date of expiry, before they calculate the amount is misleading as well. I am not sure how to resolve this. I also emailed a feedback but then again, its only feedback and they din't reply.

So, I'm still unsure how to proceed on this as they need IHS number before even filling out the vaf4a form.

hey vinny/CR001 anyone else.
Please could you advise me on finding the net amount. Reading thro' other posts, I'm still confused about how to calculate surcharge (ie what option to give) as I' am still getting £1900 to pay.

Visa form filling help:

Post by sv345 » Tue Jun 30, 2015 3:03 pm

Background:
I was in UK (Tier 2 ) with my wife (tier 2 dependent) when our child was born in UK. I obtained ILR later. I also obtained Indian passport for my daughter as we din't wanted to register her as UK citizen.
We then left for India when my wife's visa expired. I came back to UK to join new job. I am now applying for visa for my wife and child.

I am staying with a friend for now and found a flat for family to stay where tenancy start from 18th July 2015.

While filling form for settlement visa from New Delhi, I have following Questions for my wife and daughter's visa:

1)There's a question : Have you ever obtained medical treatment in UK (address, the start and finish date). As my daughter was born in UK, shall I provide for the GP detail or shall I provide the hospital address?
2) partner address : Shall I provide current -friend's-address or the address where I'll start staying in next 18 days?

Thanks

Q2) received treatment in UK (yes-child was born in UK) payment (No- NHS service to T2 dependent and child) and address (hospital or GP address)?and length of treatment (from birth or from pregnancy?)
Q3) No of years for visa (3 years or indefinite)
Q4) Travelled to UK (for daughter as she was born in UK but never had a visa- what should be my answer in this part?

Kindly answer

Spouse Visa extension - which form and when should we apply

Post by sv345 » Fri Feb 02, 2018 2:31 pm

Hi,
I got ILR based on WP and then Tier 2. Then me and my family (wife on Tier 2 dependent and child born here) went home and family stayed. Then wife and daughter applied for Tier 2 dependent (even though I was ILR) and got 33 months visa. Now time is approaching to renew their visa.

My Questions are:
1) Can my daughter still apply to register for citizenship (save money more than anything) and does she has to apply before her leave to remain expires.

2) If she is not eligible for citizenship then following two questions (correct time and form) for my daughter.

3) When can my wife apply for visa extension (somewhere I read upto 3 months before her visa expires but other topic said 28 days)

4) which form we should use to apply for extension ?

I think that they applied under Appendix FM?

1) If daughter was born in the UK, then she is entitled to register as a British citizen.

3) Your wife may apply for FLR(M) after spending 30 months in the UK and before her leave expires.

Hi Vinny,
Thanks for sending me the link.

I applied for my daughter's citizenship. Now to apply for my wife's extension,
here's a link on the HM website says ( https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... ily-routes ):
When you can apply to extend or switch
The earliest you can apply is 28 days before your current permission to stay in the UK expires.

Does earliest means I cannot apply before 1st June ? Therefore I have not applied until now. But I was discussing this with someone else and they suggested earliest means I need to apply atleast 28 days before expiry.

If thats true, this leaves me with less than 2 days to apply? However if what you said above is correct than I can apply anyday before and upto 27th June ?

She should apply before expiry of leave. If possible, not too early. A2 English language required.
