Have someone asked their passport back and travelled abroad (out from Europe) with the passport and COA?

Anyone has had this expirience? How was it in the UK boarder when back?

I printed out the 85 pages of application form for EEA PR card. My question is about the sponsor. Do I need to have one? I am from EEA country (Slovakia). It says that I need to send two photos of myself and my sponsor need to send one too, also he/she needs to send nearly the same amount of documents as I do. Am I right or I misunderstand something?

No, you don't as long as you are qualified person - see definition:

In other words, if you were "worker", self employed, etc. for at least 5 years, you don't need a sponsor.

What is very important in your case is WRS, as Slovakia is A8 country. Be careful if you entered UK before April 2011 and make sure you included your documents/evidences.

BTW, fill in and send only pages that apply to you. They suggest you skip everything else to save environment, postal cost, etc.

Thank you for your reply. I entered UK in 2006 and I am working full time since. I find it interesting that the HO needs all these documents although many of these informations are accessible from my NI. They could have access to all my history since the first day I received my NI card. And that would be more environment friendly.

You apply to naturalise via HO before applying for first passport via HMPO.
CID is an internal HO system.

You need good if not unimpeachable evidence for at least a 5-year period showing you exercised treaty rights as a qualified person in one of more categories.
If you do not have at least that that you will fail.
If you have been in UK longer than 5 years and other evidence is patchy then so be it.

As well as evidence of treaty rights, you will still need to show your residency in UK, absences within limits as well as proof of your id ofcourse.

Thank you so much. I assume the CID won't be explicitly stated if I get my residence document. With that in mind, do you know if can I contact the HO and ask explicitly for the date to inform my passport application?

I also keep forgetting about proving residence (I still think having a job should count as evidence for that but obviously not).

Anyway, you have been so helpful, I feel like you should charge the HO for your services .

Also I would like to know how soon the HO will send back my passport as I need to travel in April? Do they check these documents straight away and send them back or keep them till the end of process? (e.g. 6months?)

By the way if you are an EEA citizen it shouldn't take anywhere near 6 months, mine took 9 weeks and some members have got theirs in as little as 6.

In this case I will need to wait until April as there is no guarantee that I will get my ID back before my travel. (Traveling within EU). I assume recently expired passport is not acceptable valid document by the HO.

Hi, could you please confirm how the payment is shown in your bank statement? I had my payment taken last week, but the bank statement only says EURO Liverpool, there is no reference number. I wanted to request sponsors passport back, but not sure what payment reference to include (and there is no application number yet). Also did you receive any invoice/ email confirmation? Hi, you can request sponsor's passport back by using Royal mail tracking number, if you do not have your case number yet.

Hi, you can use his case ID number when requesting docs back. Also, you can writhe royal mail tracking number even without case ID, HO reference number or payment reference number. your docs should arrive to you within 10 working days, ie two weeks.

I am an EEA national and I have no idea if I have a HO reference number. I have certainly never seen one on any documents of mine.

The case ID comes in the confirmation email; I received this 3 weeks after they took my payment. Is it possible to advance through the form without filling any of those boxes in? They should be able to find your application on the name alone. I'm pretty sure I only gave the case ID and I got my passport back 4 days later.

Thanks guys. I have not received an email confirmation or any correspondence from the HO at all so will leave the case ID and HO reference field blank when requesting my documents back.

The thing is I started working for two agencies at the very beginning - I did just one day of work in total for one of them and continued to work for the other agency for which I filled out an application for the required WRS documents.

I applied for a EE1 blue book a year after just for confirmation.Looking through the copy of my EE1 I didn't mention that one day of employment for the other agency. I wasn't required to register if I only did 1 day of work as I understand but should I mention it now in my EEA PR application?

I am a Romanian nationality doing my PR application at the moment (hope to submit within a month ) and I had overlapping situations with my work as well. Since we are talking about just a day, I wouldn't mention it. It will create more hassle and confusion. And its not a big deal at all.

I am afraid you need to wait for 5 years. 3 years is the qualifying period if married with a British nationality.

I was facing the same issue. I never kept a record of my travels but I tried to recover them from various source.
-first I would suggest to go to your all airline /bookings accounts and might find some of them there
-second option would be to search in your email cause you must have provided an email for pretty much all the bookings
-the best option is to ask from UK Border see the link below about all the records they have about you. I personally did that and they sent me most of my trips. It wasn't each of them but was a great help. And also is free of charge.

Did it take you long to get these records?
ALso, I don't have record of my very old passport number pre 2009, as this was kept by my embassy when I got my new one. If I only knew, I would have kept record of it

My Greek wife is currently in the process of applying for a PR card using form EEA (PR). She has lived in the UK since 1998, but she has changed her status throughout that process. Between October 1998 and September 2003 she was a full-time student in Scotland and England. Between December 2003 and December 2005 she was working full time, then had a short gap in employment until May 2006, then worked from May 2006 until April 2011, then was off work due to sickness (RSI) until September 2011, then worked from September 2011 until August 2013, then became a full-time student in September 2013. She is still a full-time student.

I have read on some posts on this thread that she would have acquired permanent residency automatically in 2003, but we have no paperwork to prove this. I'm wondering if we can apply for the period 2006-2011, or if the short gaps between jobs will count against her. We married in 2008 and have lived together since 2004, but have no tenancy agreements for the period 2004-2007.

What would be the best way of applying for permanent residency?

They are only asking copy of one passport, and the only nrs of previous ones. I cannot give them any info re my passport between 2001-2009 as I do not have a copy. I just have my current nr and one expired one. I never thought I would need it

I'm claiming residency for the period 2009-2014, for which hopefully I will get my movement details from Border Agency.
I am not able to give exact details of travel between 2001-2009

Then , you can submit with the current and expired one and hope that they can trace other trips when you used other passports. Also they search according to the DOB and Full name. Anyway, its worth trying, you don't loose anything and defiantly you get some of your trips record!
