I am a Canadian citizen and my husband is British. I was granted a UK Settlement Visa and had this stamped upon my arrival in the UK in March. My mother-in-law passed away, which impacted my in laws being able to provide and sponsor my husband and I.
We were due to arrive in the UK in May but subsequently arrived in March due to the sudden death of my mother-in-law. Our leaving date was still May, and despite my Visa getting stamped we have just returned to Canada to finish of some loose ends (shipping things etc.). Whilst our intention would be to return to the UK soon, if I delayed my return by a couple of months (July/August), whilst I gained a little more capital, would this impact my ILR when I was to apply for it?
With the sudden change in circumstances, financially things have changed and ideally we would skightly delay our return to the UK, but don't want this to impact my long term ILR.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Jen
