pio card/visitors visa to india

Post by stephenjose2013 » Sat Aug 17, 2013 7:09 pm

Hi All
Pls help me to clear my doubt.

my son( 3 months) has british passport. planing to visit india and stay for 6 months.

if i get the pio card does it mean that i don't to get the indian visitors visa or should i have to get the indian visitors visa even if i get the pio card for my son.

Thanks for replying to my question.

If "you" get a PIO card then why do "you" need a visitor visa?

"Your son's" PIO card will be for "his" use. As for "you", it is up to you whether you should apply for visitor visa or apply for PIO / OCI (if you qualify) to travel to India.

thanks very much for ur reply.

sorry i meant pio card for my son. i have got ILR.

on PIO card for my son will there be a restriction in stay in india for more than 6 months. should i have to register with the FRRO in india if the length of stay is longer than 6 months.

i appreciate ur advice in this matter as i'm planing to keep my son with british passport in india for 1 year.

Thanks
