Clarification required for Tier 2 (General) dependent Visa

Post by daya.a.desai » Wed Dec 04, 2013 2:28 pm

Hi,
My husband is currently working on Tier 2 (General) in London.
I will be applying for my dependent Visa from India this week.
I need clarifications on these 3 topics :

1. My husband works in a A-rated company. He is my sponsor. Should he show some maintenance amount in his bank as a document while applying for my visa?
Ex: If he has 2000 pounds this month in his account but had around 300-400 pounds last month (after paying bills) and previous one month, is it sufficient?
Or should he maintain 600 -1000 pounds every month in his account?

2. I have graduated from a University in India where the medium of instruction has been English. I hecked that I qualify with 10 points in the UK border agency website for my English Test Skills.
Should I still go ahead and take up IELTS test or is it sufficient to produce a letter from the University confirming the same?

3. My passport has my firstname as Daya and last name as Desai. My father's name is being mentioned in passport in Father's name category as Anand Ramrao Mutalik Desai
But my degree certificate has my father's name also in it as Daya Anand Desai as they considered my middle name in the certificate.
If I have to show my degree certificate as a proof for english test certification, will this cretae a problem having my father's name in the certificate?

Kindly reply at the earliest and thanks in advance for the help !!

Thanks,
Daya

1
what you have is insuffiecent, read para 55 of the PBS dependant policy guidance:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... olicy1.pdf
the easiest way would be for your husband's employer to guarantee your maintenance
2
applying for entry clearace as a PBS dependant there are no English language requiirements.

3
Shouldn't be a problem but send a covering letter with your application explaining the situation

Thanks Manci for your reply.
My husband says that he has maintained 600 pounds in oct ,1000 pounds in nov and 1200 pounds in dec. Is this sufficient ?
Or shud he have 600+900 =1500 pounds in oct, 1500 pounds in nov and 1500 pounds in dec in bank account ? Plz help.. We are very much confused with this. The pdf doc does not mention if we have to maintain this amount each month.

Also, how do I prove the evidence of my relationship with my husband apart from marriage certificate and a few photographs?
Will marriage certificate be sufficient? Are there any chances of getting rejected by showing only marriage certificate? because my husband lives in UK from 2011 and we recently got married. I will be joining him in another 1 or 2 month's time.

Thanks,
Daya

The language skills. You have to take an IELTS unless you have been graduated from a University of an English speaking country. They do not accept an Indian degree certificate even if your medium is english. Regarding your funds. Your husband bank account is not enough unless you have a joint account. Then he has to have 600 pounds for full 3 months. It should not reduce from that. If not you have to hold that money in your bank account for 3 months. Its approximately (60,000 inr) Ur conversion goes by oanda, or your husbands A rated sponser can certify maintenance. Your husbands tenancy contract is necessary.

Hi Shiny,
Thanks for your reply. Is it mandatory to take up test?
Some of them who have got their visas done never mentioned about it in this forum earlier in any posts. So since when is this rule effective?

Thanks,
Daya
