ILR Appointment but lost current BRP Card!

I wondered if anyone could help put my mind at rest - we have an appointment in a few days for my husband's ILR application. He is currently on a spousal visa and was issued with a biometrics card. Today, this card was lost/stolen along with his wallet. He is so upset and mad with himself as it is not normally in his wallet at all times! We are now very worried that this will hinder his ILR application. We have a photocopy of the card and we have reported it as lost - I can see there is a section on the application form if you have lost the card.
Surely they cannot refuse an application based on the fact that you have lost your biometrics card? Really worrying now.

It should not be an issue as they have all his details on their system anyway. Make sure you take the case or crime reference details with you as well as the photocopy of the card.
