P60 and income query

Hi All,

I have a question around how Home Office justify that an ILR applicant on Tier 2 General has been paid the minimum required salary for the 5 year period. I understand that P60s covering for the 5 year period are required as part of the application documentation but if the applicant was on a lower salary on Tier 5 YMS prior to switching to Tier 2 General in the middle of a tax year, e.g. Tier 5 YMS until August and Tier 2 General from September with new (higher) salary taking effect, would the P60 for that specific tax year show when the increase kicked in? Or would it just show the overall tax for the total income for that specific tax year?

I would also like to know if anyone has experienced the situation where your employer put you on a lower salary for a few weeks/months than the rate based on which they submitted your Tier 2 application to Home Office? Would this affect the ILR application 5 years down the line?

ILR application is always based on the most recent payslip for Tier 2 general. The payslip must reflect that you are being paid at current salary level mapped for your SOC. As tier 2 general visa is closely monitored by UKBA they have access to your history and if the case worked thinks additional details are required they will request such info at the time of ILR.
