English Language Requirement - Tier 1 for ILR

Post by Yarlie_uk » Tue Dec 08, 2015 12:15 pm

Hi friends,

I have been following this form since last 5 years and is very much helpful at the time of my visa extensions.
Currently I am under Tier 1 (General) and completing 5 yrs of my stay in UK and planning to apply for my ILR very soon (end of Dec 15).
I am a bit confused regarding English language requirement for Tier 1 (general) applicants.
At the time of my extensions and initial application, I have submitted Indian Degree certificate with letter from university stating degree taught in English and also PBS calculator print out.
As per "FAQs - English language requirements for settlement" in this forum, Q3 states that we can use PBS calculator and if our qualification is identified by PBS calculator than its ok.
However as per latest SET(O) application in section 4, there is no such option like "qualification recognised by PBS calculator".
Please let me know still I need to apply for UK NARIC for English assessment ?
Anybody applied recently in the same situation ?
Thank you, responses will be greatly appreciated :)

Did you miss noting the underlined text in Q3 and also miss noting similarly worded option in SET(O) form?
Life isn't fair, but you can be!

Dear Sushdmehta,

Thanks for your response.
I got your point but still I am worried since I haven't seen anyone applied with PBS calculator printout very recently (i.e. after 19 Nov) as per "successful PEO ILR application" timelines in this forum :(
Don't know if am risking without NARIC certificate.

Please respond, if anyone very recently (i.e. after 19 Nov) successful with PBS calculator printout and without NARIC Certi :|

There has been change in wordings. However, the latest KOLL instructions do mention that a PBS printout with ten points should be suffecient.
