Dear Members
just wanted to ask if any one got extension approved on T1 ent 50K route can share their time line and experience? I have applied in the beginning of Nov 2015 for extension biometric was done after one week but all gone quite after that, do you think its worth contacting HO ? or if some one is experiencing the same or they tend to take longer for 50K extension applications these days???
thanks

If HO told you that your application is under process, you need to be patient and wait. You cannot really do much to be honest.

Thanks Bhaku
I guess HO wrote you letter explaing what happened to your documents , or did you phone them asking for progress?
in my case I have not heard any thing at all from HO after giving biometrics. when I call them they say on the system it is showing that your case is in the process that's all.

Just wondering if anyone knows, my initial 3 years visa finishing this June. What's the latest date I can apply for extension? I have fulfilled all extension requirements. I was hoping if I can Apply now, so if they reject it I will have time to try again.
Thanks

You could apply quite early but you risk of not having enough days to cover 5 years for your ILR in future. You are allowed to apply ONLY up to 28 days before the end of your 5 years qualifying period, otherwise your ILR application will be refused.
The guide clearly says:
If you are in the UK we encourage you to apply at least a month before your existing leave expires. If you apply much earlier than this you risk having a shortfall in leave if you choose to apply for settlement. This is because any further grant of leave is given from the date that we make the decision, not the date your leave expires

Thanks Zimba88.
I will complete my 10 years about 6 months before that. Thats why I was thinking of applying bit earlier to be on the safe side.
Just wondering if any member here applied for their extension considerably earlier before the visa end date?
Thanks

I do not think anyone can really assist you on this. You need to be patient and wait for HO to respond.
Your application might have raised some red flags for whatever reason and HO is probably investigating it. This could be the English language evidence, the previous documents you submitted, data from your criminal record or immigration history, your business activity, etc.

thanks Zimba for your information,
I never used any English test for any of my extensions (apart from IELTS), I did most of my studies in UK (undergraduate , postgraduate), never had any criminal record, business is genuine and running good. only thing is with extension application I only sent very few and basic documentation (no any extra documents) but if this was the case they would have ask me additional documents. you are right we do not really know what happening we can only assume. hope every thing goes well

I understand that such a long wait since November is completely demoralising but unfortunately every case is different and will be decided on its own merits. Since you have a long immigration history and given the large scale abuse of Tier 1E route particularly during 2013-14 as it opened up to 50K applicants, HO has a lot of reasons to review Tier 1E cases carefully.

yes you are right, i have no problem waiting but the issue is no communication from them at all since acknowledgement, if they were thinking my application is complex and requires further investigation writing a letter and letting me know does not cost them much ? since they clearly mention in acknowledgement letter that they will take 8 weeks but if they decide to take my application further they will write me letter and let me know. but nothing happened
thanks again for your help my friend!

Can you list the documents you submitted. May be with that we can make a guess what could be the reason for delay.
