Post by alimista15 » Sat Jan 23, 2016 8:55 am

Hi,

I am living in uk with my wife, I am the main application with Tier 2 general, my wife came here as my dependant.

Now we also have a child, we need to extend my visa, do we need to show original marriage certificate again with our extension application ?

THanks

Nothing required except

1. Passport
2. Photo
3. BRP card

This will be confirmed on the application form when you fill in yours

Applies to dependants as well

Tier 2 queries

Post by alimista15 » Tue Feb 09, 2016 2:05 am

Hi,

If job role is removed from short occupation list after getting my extension, do i need to apply for extension again ?

I'll be with same employer and same job role but this time i am applying through short occupation list.

On tier 2 general page it says,

I may need to apply again if my job role is removed from ahort occupation list.

I am so confused.

Does un-restricted COS expires each year ?

Post by alimista15 » Fri Mar 18, 2016 5:20 am

Hi,

I am on Tier 2 G and I need to extend my visa by 1st August 2016, I have following questions,
  • 1. Does my company needs to renew there un-restricted COS allocation every year ?

    2. If yes to above question then when is the last date they can assign COS for 2015/2016 to me, is it 04/04/2016 ?

    3. If above is correct then can I apply for above assigned COS to me in 3 months time as I want to apply in end of May 2016, but using 2015/2016 allocations ?
My company will apply for renewal of un-restricted COS allocations for 2016/2017 in April as well after they expire so I wanted to confirm if I can use last year's COS as mentioned above. Please provide reference if you can.

Thanks in Advance :) :)

Your company can only issue you with a COS to renew your visa up to three months before your expiry date. So it will have to be from the 2016/2017 allocation.

I am not seeing why there is all this concern about using the current 2015/2016 allocation....

I heard it takes 2 weeks for renewal of COS that's why. Not sure how true it is though, please confirm

I want to apply for visa as soon as possible to avoid time shortage if anything goes wrong.

Ur company can request for Unrestricted cos any time during the year. They take min 2 week to allocate the new cos. Ur company can do this by SMS. It is preferable to request 2 month before u want to extent ur visa.

Where I enter salary and hours in COS Form ?

Post by alimista15 » Wed Apr 13, 2016 9:17 am

I need to assign a COS to one employee but Where is the guidance for it ?

Looking at this guidance, it only asks for basic details and passport details, not asking for salary or hours per week.

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... ng_CoS.pdf

Are rules changed now ?

does that mean your employee is going to decide how much he wants to get paid?

as an employer, it is hoped that you will know that and will not need to ask the prospective employee

I think you misunderstood my question...

In the guide (link provided already) when assign a COS to an employee it shows we only need to give basic details.

I am after guide which is complete e.g. also shows how we enter employee's salary, hours, job description etc... as it's not shown in the guidance I found.

Log into the SMS to create the CoS - it will become obvious. There is a field for hours per week, a field for salary and a field for allowances.

If you start entering detials , it will take you to the page where you can enter no. of hours and salary.

this will be before making payment.

Note: you cannot make changes once the payment is made:
you still have an option to enter sponsor notes which can be attached to assigned cos

COS allocation timeline

Post by alimista15 » Fri Apr 15, 2016 10:59 am

Hi,

My visa is expiring very soon in 3 months time, my HR says they applied for COS renewal and also received it last week.

Now they just tried to allocate me a COS and when click on assign, it says COS limit is 0.

I am not sure what or where things have got wrong, but HR is going on 2 weeks holiday today as well, so could anyone guide me what could had gone wrong and what is the timeline for COS allocation these days.

This is about unrestricted COS allocations.
