Your husband can't sponsor you through his Italian nationality as for immigration purposes he is only considered to be British. Your au pair employment won't qualify as employment as it appears from your post that you weren't classed as a worker or an employee during your time with the family. This link explains:handy.cz wrote:Thank you for your reply. My husband is eligible for an italian passport. If he obtained this, would he then be able to sponsor me as an EEA national?
Just to clarify as an aupair in 2009-12 i never had a contract, or pay slips, as aupairs don't pay insurance and get rather 'Pocket money' than wages so do you think that would be good enough if the host family ('employer') writes me confirmation letter that i worked for them?
No it won't help, your husband will only be treated as a BC in UK (even if he is a dual/EEA national).handy.cz wrote:Thank you for your reply. My husband is eligible for an italian passport. If he obtained this, would he then be able to sponsor me as an EEA national?

CSI is comprehensive sickness insurance.handy.cz wrote:Thank you both for your replies. It seems I'll have to wait long time before i can apply.
I'd like to know one more thing. If we were going to get a life insurance & critical illness cover, would that be sufficient?
