Hi,
I've got a question regarding my permanent residence status dates.
I moved to UK from Poland in 2011 at the age of 2 months before my 16 birthday. My mum moved here in 2010. I went to college (course started just after I turned 16). I spent the next 4 years in college and then 2 years at uni.
I also started working part-time in April 2013.
I applied for permanent residence in November 2018 as a 'worker' - based my application on the period from April 2013 to April 2018. I mentioned that I was also studying during that time.
I expected the date when I was deemed to acquire permanent residence status to be around April 2018, however on the letter that I received with my PR card it says 2013 (don't have the letter in hand just now but it was dated couple months after April 2013).
May 2011 - moved to UK
August 2011 - started college
April 2013 - started part-time job
2015 - finished college, started uni (still working part-time)
May 2017 - finished uni
May 2017 - started working full-time
November 2018 - PR application sent
January 2019 - PR card received. Issue date on the card is end of December 2019 but deemed PR status acquired date is 2013.
It doesn't seem right to me, but since they put date 2013 in the letter I think I can apply for citizenship now, as long as it's the date on the letter that I need to take into account and not the date of issue on the card. Has anyone been in similar situation or what would you do in this situation? I just don't want to spend £1300 on citizenship application and be declined because I got the dates wrong.
