Time out of country on UK spouse visa

Post by Congypaul » Tue Dec 01, 2020 5:07 am

Hi everyone

My wife is currently here in the UK on family visa / spouse visa, I'm struggling to find information relating to how long she can be out of the county ie visiting her home country without it affecting her FLR application in 2022.
I have been told various different stories but I wonder if anyone here knows exactly what the rules are regarding this.
Ideally I would like to know how many days in total of this initial 2.5 years family visa needs to be spent in the UK and also how many days in total can be spent out of the county at any one time without causing any issues.
It is a long way for her to go so it makes more financial sense to go less frequently and stay there longer but we are trying to do things by the book.
Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you
Paul

There is no absence limit as of until the time of this post but heavier absence might affect the ability for the generation of cohabitation evidences which are imperative for the positive outcome.

There is no limit or cap to how long she can stay out of UK.
