Hello,
I recently applied for and was approved for my Secondary General renewal, my wife is my dependent. I am an American, my wife is Lebanese (so there is no free travel visa to the UK). Our current leave is due until December 11, 2019, we just want to do everything ahead of time. We received the decision email a week ago but has yet to receive our BRP. In a week my wife needs to go to the wedding.
The decision email states "Don't book travel until you get your BRP. Doing so may mean you didn't receive your BRP and it puts you at risk of not being able to prove that you are." are allowed to stay in the UK and refuse to re-enter the UK "
This is not clear to me. She has a valid BRP, they don't take it from us, we have to mail it when we get a new one.
The decision letter states "If you have a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) because your vacation period has expired (* we do not have *) or you have been issued a replacement permit (* because we have not yet been granted a replacement license *), you must now pay it to the Home Office as it is no longer valid. "With the two comments they gave do not seem to apply to us, I have can we assume that our BRPs are still valid?
I have checked both of our BRP numbers on the 'Right to Work' website and both of our statuses are updated to show our new leave due date, even though I am entering old BRP number.
So she should be able to show UKBA that she took her leave to stay in the UK, right?
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks
