Employment letters from previous companies

Hi all, I need your help! I’m applying ILR through 5 years route with Tier 2 working visa.

I worked at 3 companies in the past 5 years. The solicitor asked me to provide employment letters from all previous companies. Are these documents mandatory?

I can’t get an employment letter from one of the previous companies because my termination was not an amicable settlement and they are not supportive.

Are there any alternative documents I can provide in stead of employment letter?

Is an employment letter from previous company needed for the ILR application? mandatory?

When I can’t get an employment letter from previous company, what else documents I should prepare?
