My wife and myself have ILR.
Due to covid travel issues and also we had a baby this year, so my wife wasn't able to travel to UK and the 2 year period lapsed and from what I understand, she has to apply for Returning Resident Visa from the country where she is residing now even though the validity of her ILR is until next year.
I need few clarifications on the procedure and the validity of her current ILR BRP card :-
1) If her Returning Resident Visa is successful, she has to travel to UK within 3 months , is that right ?
a) Will her current BRP be still be valid until next year or will she be getting a new BRP ?
b) If she is getting a new BRP which has to be collected from post office nearby , will she be able to come to the UK, collect the BRP and travel back within a week, then get the visa for our baby done as well and then return back with the baby to the UK ?
d) Since her current BRP is only valid until early next year, does she have to apply for BRP extension next year once again and go through a similar process for BRP renewal once again next year ?
e) Also it seems like new BRP's are issued with validity until 31st December 2024, so does that mean we have to go through ILR extension application once again around end of next year as this is quite confusing on whether we need to submit documentation once again or is the process completely transparent and the only change is that it will be online from 2025 and the BRP card would no longer be necessary ?
