EEA2 My journey just started.....

Post by JK09 » Thu Feb 12, 2009 10:28 pm

Hello everybody

i am really happy that i found this very nice forum and i can share my experience and learn more information about visa applications.

i have applied for eea2 a month ago by using special delivery.

i was expecting that me and my wife will receive our visas back in less than 6 months but from what i read in this forum is going to take at least 8-9month....

anyway, i have some questions and i hope someone can help me:

1) shouldnt i have received a letter from the home office, saying that they have received my application ?

2)me and my wife are planning to go to an agent and help us with our application. Is it going to be waste of money or they really can help ?

thanks in advance for all the answers and comments

Hi

Good luck on you journey.
You should get a COA letter from Home Office in about 3 weeks after you applied for EE2.

I got my EE2 8 months after I applied so I don't think you will get it earlier even if you get an agent.
In COA they will state that you do not call them before you six mounts expired, and after that you can start complying.

But be ready for long waiting, lot of phone calls with the same answer you application is under consideration.

Hope you send them the entire documents that they require, because if you didn’t it can slow up your process.

The EEA2 application is pretty simple and straightforward. No need to waste money on an agent. If you still haven't recieved your Certificate of Application confirming that they have received your application, you can email a complaint to NWCSU@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk Remember to quote your Special Delivery number, Name, Date of birth, Nationality and Home Office reference (if you have one). They are usually quite helpful.

Send them a letter by special delivery asking about the COA letter and reminding them that they can take at most 6 months to process the application.

I do not think an agent will be in any way helpful. I would not bother.

Hi Good people

I know some us us are struggling with finances and some can't even get a job until they get a decision with their passports from the HO. Therefore, it is EXPENSIVE calling those 0870/0845xxxxxxxxx numbers that the Home office generally provides.
Don't give up, now you can call Home Office for free, just check out www.saynoto0870.com and you will be provided with a local 0208/0151/0161xxxxxx number where you can contact HO for FREE! The actual number is 01516725626. (But log on to www.saynoto0870.com and confirm for yourself)
Especially if you have a pay monthly home or mobile telephone contract. You can still call from a pay as you go mobile but the charge rate will be like you are calling your neighbour next door on any 0208xxxxxxxx number.
Good luck Razz (Please share with others if it works for you!)
