URGENT: Regarding HSBC statement (a different case)..

Post by debz » Mon Apr 20, 2009 4:16 pm

Hi,

My husband has an in-person appo on 29th April morning. This query is reg his maintenance fund. His statement cycle is 28th of a month to 27th of next month (he has HSBC plus a/c not online saver). He has the postal bank statements for Jan-Feb and Feb-March. But he would obviously not receive the April postal bank statement by 28th April (as it will only be generated on 27th April midnight).

After trying several nearby HSBC branches in the past, we got a temporary statement (with all transactions from his last statement date i.e. 27th March) from the Croydon branch today, on a paper bearing HSBC logo and their branch seal. Will it be sufficient (as dated less than a month? or this less than a month funda is applicable only for original postal bank statements?)? He is also planning to get the same kind of statement once again on 28th morning from the branch. Do you think this option will be better? Or do you suggest him to cancel his appointment and apply only after he receives his April postal statement? Note that HSBC branch was not ready to provide any letter as HO requires.

My statements are hopefully fine. I too have my appo on 29th April. Have my savings a/c with HSBC but my last statement was till 2nd of April (which will still be less than a month) but still planning to put a temporary statement alongside. What do u think?

Please share your experience/view.

Cheers..

As per the guidance notes, statement on the offical bank paper with logo and signature should be acceptable.

Just mention the same in your cover letter, or in person to the case worker you should be fine..

I would wait for advice from other forum members as well...

Bank statement on Bank Stationary(with atleast stamped if not signed) is sufficient. If you can get statement on 28th (even temporary), it would be fine.

I you live in Croydon, visit HSBC branch which is opposit Electiricity Building near Home Office (Lunar House). They do provide these statements without hitch.
