Frenchman applying for Security Clearance - is this possible

Post by Phil_C » Fri Sep 25, 2009 5:10 pm

Hi All,

Question - can anyone clarify the following: - If you're nationality is French (French passport holder) and have been living in the UK for over 8 years continously - are you eligible to apply for (SC) Security Clearance?

If so - How is the Security Clearance applied for?

Advice / referrals appreciated.

Anyone resident in the UK can apply for security clearance. You have to meet a residency requirement of living in the UK for the last 5 years before you can be security cleared.

Also, you cannot request security clearance by yourself. It needs to be initiated on your behalf by an establishment or company etc. For example, place of work.
