Wrong Visa Endorsement????

Post by mushucat32 » Wed Nov 25, 2009 11:09 am

Hi

Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this or experienced a similar situation??
Applied for unmarried partners visa in Colombo Sri Lanka, visa got rejected and then we appealed and the decision was overturned as I urgently need to be in UK for medical treatment. We received my partners passport this afternoon and I believe the endorsement is wrong as it states VISA SPOUCE/CP. I called the High Commision in Colombo and initially they said thats the correct endorsement but i asked them to doublecheck with Chennai office as this is where the visas are issued. According the the Home Office website the endorsement should be TO ACC PARTNER.
We are supposed to be flying this Sunday flights and all are booked and now we dont have enough days to send the passport back to get it changed. Chennai office is now closed so we cannot get an answer untill tomorrow.
Could we travel as planned and then correct this when in the UK?
Or is it better if we ask for a letter from Chennai saying that they have made a mistake and since we have no days to change the passport here, we have to travel as planned.

Any thoughts please???

Probably a good idea.

Thank you for the info Vinni, I had already read those documents thats why i knew immediately when i saw the passport that the endorsement wasnt correct.
They have now told us to go to the High Comm in Colombo and they will issue a letter for us stating that they have given the wrong visa.

Lets see how much longer this will drag on.... :)
