Referee Query...

Post by manutd666 » Sun Oct 24, 2010 8:30 pm

Good evening,
I want to know if a person who works for the bank ( RBS) can he be used as my referee ( who has a professional standing), is he considered as a bank/building society official?
I thought I had this sorted, but the friend who was supposed to do it is on holiday

I asked my bank Halifax and was told they could not as no one has known me personally for the 3year period for naturalising

I rang home office (the British citizenship department) and they said it’s fine as long as the person is employed by the bank he is considered as bank official.
I used to work for the bank, so the person who works at the bank I was referring to is a friend of mine and I know for over 4 years.

Today I went to HSBC with my wife to get her online bank statement stamped and they refused, I didn’t believe them so went to 3 different branches and they all refused, the funny thing is one of the manager at the branch suggested that I should get them stamped or signed by my GP or solicitor  , talking about incompetency .
