Switching from Tier 2 to Tier 1 - can I work?

Post by alex1802 » Sun Feb 13, 2011 11:16 pm

I applied to switch to Tier 1 from Tier 2 (which will expire in about a month) and I can't figure whether I can work after my permit expires and before the decision is made (assuming it will be granted because I score very well in the points-based system). Does anyone know where in the legislation I can find this answer? Thank you very very much!

Yes, but only with the employer who sponsored your work permit / Tier 2 sponsorship.

Thank you very much! Would you have any idea where in the legislation I can find it? Next step is to show it to HR...

Again, thank you VERY much!

Employer may call the Sponsorship and employers' helpline to verify an applicant's right to work.
a service to employers who want to verify the entitlement to work for people who are awaiting the outcome of an application made to the Home Office;
