Trip to india inmarch- Tier1 visarenewalinjuly/pasport expir

Hi.

Im indian passport holder and thinking of going india for 4 weeks starting next week March 4th 2011. I have Tier 1 visa extension is up for renewal in july this year.

Also i have an indian passport (10 years validity)expiring on june 11th.


Will i have any problems coming into UK as i have only 4 months left on my TIER 1 visa renewal and also 3 months valid passport?

Would you suggest me to get my passport re-issued in indian embassy in london uk and then travel to india. can you please provide info about procedure involved.


Will my trip effect my tier 1 visa renewal chances?


I would appreciate any help

I don't think you shouldhave any problem in coming back to UK. And you can stay outside the UK for a total of 180 days (not more than 90 days in one trip). You should however renew your passport in the 1st available instance when you come back.

I had 4 months left for passport expiry and had some bad experiences while flying back from Inda ...

The airlines staff took me for a small ride saying it is < 6 months ...

I spend some 1 hour arguing with different guys ....

Immigration guys never said anything , it was the airlines staff who made a mess ...

There shouldnt be any issue. I travelled last Nov to India with one month Passport validity.

You can travel until the last date of validity and some Airlines may ask some questions and just answer them that you are going to renew your passport in UK Indian HC.

'Passport check' officials at Indian ports also tend to ask questions. I had 3 months left on my Indian passport and was flying out of Mumbai. At the 'passport check' desk. the official asked me questions like what do you do, where do you live and all (my passport still had an Indian address). I told him that I work in the UK and plan to renew my passport there. He then told me to wait and had a discussion with his supervisor (maybe) and then let me go after he stamped my passport.

So be prepared for some extra questions, but they cannot stop you from travelling.

can any be kind enough to help on my query.
I am on tier 2 which is valid untill 2016 and along withit there is a biometric card.
also I have schengen business visa in my passport.
I am planning to post the passport application form through post rather than submitting in person.
could anyone please let me know what all the documents I need to submitt with the application form.
additionally do i need to submit my original passport along with the biometric card?
your help on this would be much appreciated.
