Orginal documents for visiting family members?

Post by abdellah2082 » Wed Mar 09, 2011 12:23 pm

Hi All,

I want my mum and brother to visit me in early April as my wife is expected to deliver our first child by then.

my mum does not work whilst my brother is at University; therefore I have already sent them, via royal mail, supporting documents in the form of original bank statements, payslips, tenancy agreement ... etc

Unfortunately it has been over 3 weeks now and these documents have not reached them in my country of origin.

I am now thinking to send them the scanned copies of my supporting documents via email as time is of crucial importance. My straight forward question is:

Does the UK Border accept copies of my supporing documents (i.e my bank statements, payslips, tenancy agreement)? or must they be original documents?

I am a permanent resident. A quick answer will be appreciated.

Many Thanks
Abdellah
