Fiance visa application process?

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get some more detailed information about how to apply for a finace visa?

I'm in the UK and my fiance is in India and applying for a UK visa. Basically I want to know if I can apply for him here or if he has to do everything from his end or is it a mixture of both? I have most of his documents here with me in the UK. The only thing he has is his passport. But I am going out to India next week so can take any documents that he might need. I hope we won't have to post anything as I've heard the Indian postal service isn't very reliable.

Maybe someone who has applied for a fiance visa could advise me?
