Max time allowed outside country for Indefinite Visa ?

Hi I have just received my Tier 1 (General), I was wondering what is the overall maximum time I can spend outside U.K. and not affect my chances of Indefinite Visa. Is there a limit to no of days you can spend per year , and how is a year counted (a) year from date of issue of visa (ex. July 2011 to June 2012) , or (b) Calendar year 2011, 2012, etc.

If anyone has any information please let me know.
