Barclays Visa Card @PEO Croydon

Post by d193068 » Thu Oct 13, 2011 10:28 pm

Hi,
I am having a interview at Croydon office on 17/10 at 9:15 AM. I have a query regarding the Barclays Visa Debit card which will be my method of payment.

I called the Anti-Fraud department and requested them to keep my card off from their monitoring activity on the interview date. They declined to do so. But they said, if the transaction gets declined, you can call the Anti-Fraud number and it will go through after they are convinced.

My questions are: Are there any recent instances where Chip and Pin method of Payment had been declined for Barclays Debit Card?

Will the PEO office accept the delay of 5 - 10 in reattempting the payment?

Any quick responses will be highly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

All EMV cards issued in UK - credit or debit - are chip and pin. If chip and pin method of payment authorization wasn't allowed at PEOs, then UKBA would have clearly stated that "payments by cards are not accepted at PEOs"!

Just call your bank one day before your appointment and tell them to expect a payment transaction on XYZ date for ABC amount on the card you wish to use, and that the payment should not be refused. Do check that your (available) debit card limit is more than the amount of fees you need to pay.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
