Recently there are increasing instances where ILR case was not processed at PEO same day service and applicant waited/waiting for weeks for positive or negative decision. There is a mechanism through which that waiting period can be curtailed and it is better than the hustle of involving MP.
If one is bold enough and the case is straight or falls within discretion then one can file a politely worded complaint through post (instead of email) regarding the standard of service at PEO - by using the form provided by UKBA.

Just write that you paid premium fee for urgent consideration of your case due to your peculiar circumstances and principle of propriety warrants priority handling of your pending case. If you have children add a line that early decision is important for them as well.I have seen instance of very prompt response/decision in pending case.
Even in postal application one can send a request for urgent consideration based on some grounds/evidence and thereafter in case of no response resort to this mechanism.
