Applying for Fiance visa - need some help

Post by scan87 » Fri Dec 09, 2011 2:15 am

Hello everyone,

I will be applying for my fiance visa next week.

I am submitting the following documents along with the Settlement & Family Reunion (VAF4A OCT 2011), Sponsorship Undertaking SU07/01 and VAF 4A Annex (ELT) Nov 2010 forms:-

Documents regarding status
a) Current Indian passport of Applicant
b) Previous Indian passport of Applicant
c) Notarized copy of Sponsor’s British passport
d) Notarized copy of Sponsor’s brother’s British passport
e) Divorce certificate (Decree Absolute) of Sponsor

Supporting Letters
a) Letter from Sponsor
b) Letter from Applicant
c) Letter from Sponsor’s brother

Document regarding English Language Requirement
a) Bachelor’s Degree and Transcript

Documents regarding relationship of Applicant and Sponsor
a) Photos of Sponsor and Applicant together
b) Engagement ring receipt
c) Tickets of outings, ticket receipts & receipts of gift items bought
d) Telephone Bills
e) Calling card
f) Provisional Booking for Marriage receipt
g) Wedding Hall receipt

Documents regarding maintenance
a) Bank statement of Sponsor
b) Bank statement of Sponsor’s brother
c) Bank statement/Pass Book of Applicant
d) Encashment Certificate of Applicant
e) Benefit related documents of Sponsor:-
* DLA (Disability Living Allowance) Letter
* Income Support Letter
* Council Tax Letter
* Housing Benefit Letter
f) Job offer letter of Applicant
g) Job examples (printed out from http://jobseekers.direct.gov.uk) related to Applicant’s qualifications which Applicant can undertake in the UK
h) Copy of Sponsor’s Freedom Pass

Documents regarding accommodation
a) Tenancy agreement
b) Letter from Housing Association
c) Rent statement

Just to let you know I was in the United Kingdom for the last 6 years. Never overstayed my visas in the UK. I always extended my visas on time. Came back to India at the end of August.

I have been in a relationship with my fiancee for three years now (well 2 years and 11 months now, to be precise).

I was once refused visa whilst in the UK. I had appealed against the decision and the judge later overturned the decision in my favour.

My questions:-

1. Firstly, do I need to submit any more documents?

2. Secondly, do I need to write a separate letter to the ECO regarding the visa refusal which I received whilst in the UK?

3. Thirdly, as you can see from my list of documents, that my fiancee is in receipt of benefits (Income Support, Disability Living Allowance, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit). I have savings of £2100 in my bank account in India and my fiancee was gifted £5000 by her brother. Additionally my fiancee has around £500 of her own money in her bank account. Do you think we have enough money to satisfy the immigration rules?

4. And lastly from assessing the above-mentioned information, what is the percentage of success do you think I have in getting the Fiance Visa?

Thank you very much for your help.

I have UK Bachelor's Degree from University of East London. I am going to apply for a Fiance Visa. I am going to submit both the degree and the transcript. But do I need to get a confirmation certificate from UK NARIC to confirm that my degree was taught in English Language?

Thank you very much for your help.

Sponsorship Undertaking SU07/01 and VAF 4A Annex (ELT) Nov 2010 forms.
I think (i am not sure and I too would like clarification):

The SU07/01 is not needed unless your sponser wants to declare it.

VAF 4A Annex (ELT) Nov 2010 is no longer needed since the same questions are now on VAF4a.

You could include a spreadsheet detailsing you sponsers income and expenses. and another spreadsheet of projected expenses after your visa is granted.
